New information on the website

To make it easier to understand the catalogue descriptions, we have prepared an illustration of the internal structure of a snowboard.
Below you will find definitions of key parts and their role in the construction.

Base, sliding surface

A sliding surface on the underside of the snowboard. Madeof polymeric materials and polished/structured in a special way.
Role: sliding on the snow.

The basis of construction, serving as a support for the other layers of the composite.
Role: the core stuff significantly determines a lot of snowboard characteristics: stiffness, elasticity and responsiveness. Its quality determine show long the board will maintain its characteristics. We use only vertically laminated wood cores of different wood species.

Reinforcing components

Layers of fiber of different chemical composites and weaving, alloys, damping materials are added to the composite to give a snowboard specific properties. For example: carbon, Kevlar, Titanal and fiberglass.
Role: they provide torsional and longitudinal stiffness and determine the strength and specific character of rebound.

Plastic or phenolic composite material above the edge protects the inner layers of the sandwich construction.
Role: Protection and vibration rejection. The sidewall material affects the torsional rigidity as well.

Wraps the bottom surface of the snowboard. Edge is usually manufactured out of steel.
Role: Provides grip on a hard surface of the slope.

Metal fasteners, firmly anchored in the core and the layers of the composite.
Role: To fasten bindings or race plates.

Combination of characteristics of a model, such as the width of the nose, the waist and the tail, side cut shape, nose shape and location of the inserts.
Role: The first factor that determines the character of the board and its behavior on the slope.

Camber and rocker

Terms describing the shape of a snowboard profile. Camber or under rider’s weight flexure is a bridge-like profile shape of the snowboard. It is designed to partially compensate the weight of a rider and to provide longitudinal distribution of pressure at riding. Rocker is a preliminary bent nose and/or tail of the snowboard that provides easier starting and finishing of the turn.

Role: Camber and rocker ratio significantly influences your riding impression, in particular the mobility and stability of the board. This ratio is chosen for each model separately.
